TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安) on Thursday (Oct. 17) vowed unwavering commitment to defend citizens' rights amid ongoing concerns about the Taipei Dome (大巨蛋) project. This statement comes as scrutiny intensifies over the allocation of VIP suites within the facility.

Kuomintang (KMT, 國民黨) Councilor Keng Wei (耿葳) raised concerns about the use of 18 VIP suites on the third floor, suggesting that Farglory Group (遠雄) only allocated one suite for event organizers. At the same time, the rest might become private lounges for the group.

In response, Farglory asserted that the Taipei City Government has no authority over its operations and clarified that the VIP suites were designed as part of the operational cost. Mayor Chiang assured that Taipei's Department of Sports (體育局) would respond clearly regarding the VIP suite concerns.

The mayor reiterated the city's firm stance and emphasized that all operations align with Farglory's contractual agreements. He further cited previous issues, such as leaks at the Taipei Dome, where the city demanded immediate rectification by Farglory according to the contract.
